Creatively we approached the project with a minimalist look and feel. Bold, engaging and professional were some of the words that drove our creative process. From a UX standpoint, simplicity was key. We segmented the homepage by task – learn, test, develop – to provide quick access to content of interest. And because soldiers and military personnel would access and download apps in the field from mobile devices, it had to be lightweight to work well on the Android (target mobile app).
We extended the design direction throughout the site on app product pages that clearly demonstrate the features of the app; developer pages that engage prospective app developers; and rating pages where users can rate an app’s effectiveness.

We created a new brand identity and logo for DARPA Mobilize. As with the website, our logo design directives included concepts of simplicity and professionalism. Because the DARPA apps are intended for use by military personnel, we iterated with shades of brown and green, as well as black. We helped DARPA create a straightforward tagline – mobile military applications – to ensure users have a clear understanding of the available products.
