The Launch of DC Cool

In November of 2013, Destination DC (the official tourism agency of Washington, DC) launched the DC Cool campaign to help promote the Nation’s capital and shine a light on the hipper side of the city.

They called on us to create the digital strategy and associated website.

The site demanded a slick design using the latest web technologies and a clean, modern look. Users arrive at the site to see a large, impactful photograph and then are encouraged to explore further to find current listings of DC hot spots.

An “Insiders” section allows selected writers to offer more expanded content highlighting interesting aspects of DC life.

Equally important, the site encourages interaction with users and promotes social sharing.

This is accomplished through a live, integrated Twitter feed and Instagram photos. Finally, users can submit ideas to the site using Twitter hashtag #dccool. The site will be supported through a digital marketing campaign and traditional offline advertising.
