Kathy Meyer
Kathy brings both a fresh perspective and a deep-rooted commitment to accessibility to her role as Interactive Strategies’ Open-Source Intern. After years as a special education teacher, she transitioned to web development in 2024, applying her expertise in inclusive instruction to create human-centered digital experiences.
She got her start at Debug Academy, where she contributed to the redesign of Drupal.tv and discovered a love for the puzzle-solving nature of coding. Her teaching background shapes her approach: thoughtful, creative, and always focused on the needs of the end user. Today, she’s channeling that same energy into open-source projects that aim to make a meaningful difference.
When she’s not deep in a coding challenge, you’ll find Kathy at home with her family, likely midway through a crochet project, or halfway through at least three books. She’s also one of the rare few who can wiggle her ears on command, which doesn’t help with debugging, but is a hit at parties.
