Megan Okrand
Megan has always been a writer, probably because talking people into seeing things her way is her toxic trait. There’s something deeply satisfying about getting someone to love what you love, whether it’s a brand, an idea, or the concept of using a turn signal before turning. As the creative digital copywriter at Interactive Strategies, she blends sharp messaging with engaging storytelling to make people feel something (or at least stop scrolling for half a second). If she can do that, she’s done her job.
Her copywriting has helped multiple brands double their sales through email and paid media campaigns. But before she was writing for brands, she was writing for the toughest audience out there: teenagers. As a history teacher, she had to make the past feel relevant, which shaped how she writes today: Make it relevant and make it stick, because if you can make someone care, you can make them act.
A devoted cat mom and a big fan of modern design, Megan spends her free time hunting for vintage pieces and slowly turning her home into a highly curated Pee-Wee’s Playhouse. Inspired by the late, great Jonathan Gold, she’s also on a mission to eat her way through every corner of Los Angeles. And if you ever need someone to fact-check Klingon grammar, she’s got that covered too, thanks to her uncle (who, fun fact, invented the language).
